SSSI - Sunny Snowdonia, Silly Instructors

Today our groups headed out for two very different days, a few groups headed out to the Afon Ddu for some wild watery fun whilst others headed up to Pen Y Pass for a river study of the Afon Peris.
This is an educational trip focussing on Geography for the groups GCSE Coursework. Along side this curriculum based  objective the group have also set aims of personal organisation and trying to wait for others to finish speaking - with mixed results!
Amazing photograph taken by group 3's amazing teacher, Dave.
The groups worked well together in some spicy water levels today and listening was an integral part of the day. The groups followed instructions well and were rewarded with a full ascent of the gorge.

Collecting data.
Snowdonia is a fantastic place to live and work, steeped in nature, history and some fantastic locations for outdoor activities, but there is more that just the excitement on offer.  One of the teachers for the group today told me that on a previous trip her whole class attended this trip and the data that they were able to collect, coupled with excellent contextualised learning resulted in the whole class achieving A* to B graded in their GCSE, and the average grade an A*!
River study fun!
